A modern Global25 dataset built from verified people

Public modern Global25 references are thin, unlabelled or impossible to verify. This dataset is built the slow way: one person, one official coordinate row, one ethnicity label, checked against an identity document before it is published. It is free to download and free to use.

What this dataset is

Global25 coordinates are the 25-dimensional position Davidski's Eurogenes service computes for a genotype. Thousands of people hold their own row, but almost none of those rows exist anywhere as a labelled, verifiable modern reference. Population averages are published; the individuals behind them are not.

This dataset collects individual scaled rows from people who choose to contribute them, each filed under the one ethnicity the contributor declares for themselves. Every contribution is reviewed by a person before it is published, and the review includes an identity document, so the label on the row is not a guess.

The file is plain text, one row per contributor, in the same format every Global25 tool already reads. Anyone can download it, and Ancestrify uses it to improve its own modern references and to publish statistics over time.

Why every contributor is identity-verified

One person, one row

The identity document proves a real person stands behind the coordinates, and that the same person cannot appear twice under two labels.

Official coordinates only

The screenshot of the delivery email and the unmodified .txt file show the row came from the Global25 service itself, not from a converter, a simulator or a hand edit.

A label you can trust

The declared ethnicity is checked against the nationality on the document where it can be. A row whose label cannot be supported is not published.

How a contribution moves through review

Coordinates

Get your official Global25 coordinates

sourceDavidski, Eurogenes

Order your coordinates from the Global25 service. You receive a .txt file with a Scaled block and a Raw block, plus a delivery email. Keep both.

Submission

Upload the file, your ID and the email screenshot

needsverified account

From your dashboard: the unmodified .txt file, one ethnicity from the catalog, the place your family comes from on a map, a passport or ID scan showing your full name and nationality, and a screenshot of the email that delivered the coordinates.

Review

A person checks the submission

checksidentity, provenance, duplicates

The name on the document is matched to the account, the file is checked for the original Global25 grid, and the coordinates are compared against every row already submitted.

Published

Your row joins the dataset, your documents are deleted

resultone labelled row

On approval the scaled row is published under your ethnicity and both documents are deleted. You are notified either way, with a note if the submission could not be accepted.

What is published

  • The scaled coordinates, exactly as Davidski sent them, 25 values.
  • One ethnicity label per row, chosen by the contributor from the Ancestrify catalog.
  • Nothing else. No name, no sample id, no email, no document, no raw coordinates, no origin point, no note.

What is deleted, and when

  • The identity document and the email screenshot are deleted the moment a contribution is approved.
  • Withdrawing a contribution before or after a decision deletes both documents immediately.
  • A contribution that was not accepted keeps its documents only so the decision can be revisited; the contributor can withdraw it at any time, which deletes them.
  • Raw coordinates are kept privately to catch duplicate submissions. They are never published.

The privacy notice names the identity document as its own data category, and the terms carry the licence every contributor grants.

Contribute your coordinates

Any account with a verified email can contribute. No purchase is needed. If you do not have your coordinates yet, here is how to get them.

Questions

  • Who can contribute?

Anyone with an Ancestrify account and a verified email address. No purchase is needed. You must be the person whose coordinates you are submitting, and the identity document must be yours.

  • Which file do I upload?

The .txt file Davidski sends with your Global25 coordinates. It has a Scaled block and a Raw block, each with one row under your name. Upload it exactly as you received it; an edited, converted or truncated file is refused.

  • Can I submit coordinates for a relative?

No. One account submits for one person, and the identity document must belong to that person. A relative can open their own free account and contribute in a minute.

  • What if my ethnicity is not in the list?

The catalog covers every sovereign state and many peoples, and it grows. Write to support with the label you would use and it will be considered before your submission is reviewed.

  • Can I remove my row later?

Before a decision, withdraw the submission from your dashboard and everything is deleted at once. After publication, write to support and the row is removed the same day; the public file is rebuilt without it.

  • Is my identity document stored?

Only while the review is open. It is deleted the moment the contribution is approved or withdrawn. It is served to the reviewer through a private route and is never public, never presigned and never shared.

  • Are the rows anonymous?

Each row carries only an ethnicity label and 25 numbers. No name, sample id, email or document is ever published. Your Global25 coordinates are a description of your genome, so contribute only if you are comfortable with that description being public under your ethnicity.

  • Under what terms is the dataset published?

Free to download and use, for research, tools and statistics. Attribution to Ancestrify is appreciated. Contributors grant the licence described in the Terms of Service when they submit.
