Your assistant, at your Ancestry Workbench
Ask in plain words. Your own assistant finds the populations, runs real qpAdm models, rotations and Fst scans on your own DNA, and reads you the results. It pays from your Workbench balance, within a daily limit you choose, and it can never change your Ancient Ancestry report.
As far as we know, Ancestrify is the first ancestry service where your own assistant runs real analyses on your DNA.

Your report's model uses Anatolia_N and WHG. I added Yamnaya_Samara as a third source and ran it once.

qpAdm does not reject it: p is 0.31 and every weight is above zero. It is your own model, not Ancestrify's finding, and it cost €0.004 from your balance.
How it works
Copy the address
One address for every assistant: the Workbench's own MCP server.
Add it, then sign in with Ancestrify
Your assistant opens Ancestrify's sign-in page. There is no key to paste, and your password never reaches it.
Choose a daily limit, then ask
Allow it with €1, €5 or €20 a day, or no limit, and ask in your own words. You can change the limit, or disconnect it, any time in the Workbench.
Server address
https://api.ancestrify.io/mcpPaste it where your assistant asks for a connector or an MCP server. It signs in with your Ancestrify account, so there is no key to copy or keep safe.
Set it up in your assistant
Open Customize, then Connectors.
Choose Add custom connector, name it Ancestrify Workbench and paste the address above.
Choose Add, then sign in with your Ancestrify account and allow it.
In a chat, open the + menu, then Connectors, and turn it on.
On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds it under Organization settings first; then you choose Connect. If Claude asks how it identifies itself, keep Use Claude's published identity.
What your assistant can do
See your kits, your balance and your statement, and read the results of your models, rotations and Fst scans.
Run and cancel models, rotations and Fst scans on your kits, paid from your balance.
Add a finished Ancient Ancestry report of yours as a kit, which is free.
- Connecting
- Free, with the Ancestrify account you already have.
- Reading
- Free: your kits, your balance, your statement and every result.
- qpAdm model
- about €0.004 a model, whether qpAdm accepts or rejects it.
- Rotation
- about €0.004 a fitted model, €0.04 minimum. Models that fail are refunded.
- Fst scan
- about €0.004 a scan of the whole reference panel.
- A report as a kit
- Free. A finished Ancient Ancestry report joins as a kit, already merged.
Money is held when work starts and charged only for work that finishes. A failed run is never charged. A balance starts at €9.99 and never expires.

What your assistant opens before it can connect. The limit is yours to choose there.
- Sign in with Ancestrify.
- No API key to copy and no password shared. Your assistant opens Ancestrify's own page, which names it before you allow anything.
- A daily limit for each assistant.
- It never spends more than the limit you chose in any 24 hours, and it can never change that limit itself.
- Your report stays yours.
- An assistant can never add a model to your Ancient Ancestry report, top up your balance or delete a kit.
- Disconnect in one tap.
- The Workbench lists each connected assistant with what it spent and when it was last used, and your statement names the assistant behind every run.
What your assistant reads goes to the company that runs it, under your account with them. The privacy notice says what we keep about a connection.
Questions
What is MCP?
The Model Context Protocol: the open standard Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code use to connect to other services. The Ancestry Workbench has its own MCP server, so once you allow it, your assistant can use the Workbench's tools for you: find populations, run models, rotations and Fst scans, and read the results.
Which assistants work?
Claude on claude.ai, in the Claude apps and in Claude Code; ChatGPT on the web; Cursor; and VS Code with GitHub Copilot. Other assistants that can add a remote MCP server with sign-in should work too.
What does it cost?
Connecting is free, and so is reading your kits, balance and results. Work is paid from your Workbench balance at the usual prices: about €0.004 a qpAdm model, €0.004 a fitted rotation model (€0.04 minimum) and €0.004 an Fst scan. Money is held when work starts and charged only for work that finishes. A failed run is never charged. A balance starts at €9.99 and never expires.
Can my assistant spend my whole balance?
Only if you choose No limit when you allow it. Otherwise it stops at the daily limit you picked: €1, €5 or €20. It can never change its own limit, and you can change it, or disconnect the assistant, at any time in the Workbench.
Can it change my Ancient Ancestry report?
No. It can read the models in your report and test models of its own, but adding a model to your report stays with you, in the Workbench.
Does Ancestrify see my conversation?
No. We see only what your assistant asks the Workbench to do, such as running a model: the same requests the dashboard makes. Your conversation, and the results your assistant reads, go to the company that runs it, under your account with them.
Do I need an Ancient Ancestry report?
No. Any Workbench kit works: a raw DNA file you upload in the Workbench, or a finished Ancient Ancestry report, which your assistant can add as a kit for free.
Is a model my assistant runs Ancestrify's finding?
No. It is your own hypothesis, run on the same engine as our reports, and your assistant is asked to say so when it describes one. The model in your Ancient Ancestry report is the one a person at Ancestrify chose and approved.
