Heart conduction timing association
The time an electrical signal takes to pass from the upper to the lower chambers of the heart.

What the research found
In the cited research, the C allele at rs6800541 was associated with a longer electrocardiogram PR interval in the studied cohorts.

What the study found
In the study, each copy went with PR interval on the electrocardiogram about 2.52 ms higher on average.
- Evidence

A DNA Traits report reads this marker in your raw DNA file and shows which of the three genotypes is yours, with how common it is. It counts the copies of the studied allele; it does not measure the trait itself.

What it cannot tell you
The PR interval is an ECG timing measure covering electrical activation of the atria and conduction toward the ventricles. This marker cannot tell you your current ECG interval, is not a test for a heart rhythm or conduction disorder, cannot predict cardiovascular risk and does not guide treatment. Only the studied C/T allele pair is interpreted.
